Come and join our awesome Girl Power Club!

GIRL POWER provides fun, interactive well-being workshops and events for young girls. We help girls develop a positive mindset, inner confidence and resilience during their primary school years.

Our events are based on positive psychology principles and delivered by way of fun, creative and engaging activities. Girls come away knowing themselves better, understanding the power they have over their own lives and with increased social awareness.

In Term 2, 2020 we are introducing our 'Girl Power Club' - a safe and supportive environment where girls can develop self-confidence, discuss weekly joys and concerns and enjoy empowering creative activities. The club runs for 9 weeks and covers the following topics:

Week 1: Individuality & Identifying Strengths

Week 2: Positive Friendships

Week 3: Friendship Fires & Bully-proof Skills

Week 4: Growth Mindset & Resilience

Week 6: Social Skills

Week 7: Calming Strategies

Week 8: Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

Week 9: Revision, Reflection and Presentation

We explore these topics through movement, worksheets, journals, vibrant discussion, active games, role play and art/craft.

The Girl Power Club takes place on Thursdays at the Highgate Guide Hall.

Term 2 dates -  Thurs 30th April - Thurs 25th June.

4.30 - 5.30pm Juniors (6-8 yrs)

5.30 - 7pm Tweens (9-12 yrs)

"Thank you! My daughter Hailey loves your groups and has been twice now. Your groups help her in so many ways and I can really see the difference" Melissa, parent

"From Miss 9 'It’s really good it has a lot of fun activities games and craft it’s super fun and they are really nice and I loved it!'”  Julie, mother of Miss 9

"Thank you Girl Power team 🌟 Our 10 year old daughter had a fabulous experience at your workshop. She raved about the activities, especially the gratitude jar which is something we could all learn from. As parents, we loved knowing that she was having fun whilst being empowered with life skills to help her navigate her pre-teen years" Kylie, mother of Miss 10

"Thank you SO MUCH! She had the best time and came home happy, positive and enthusiastic. Thank you for the wonderful experience - we are all so very grateful for the opportunity as I know girls get so much from these workshops. It's so important, so thank you"  Beth, mother of Miss 8

"My 11 year old went along to the one day workshop and absolutely loved it. She came home so excited about all the activities and made some new friends. I would recommend it to all pre-teens!" Patsy, mother of Miss 11

"My Miss 10 just completed her first workshop & loved it! Being new to SA we thought it was a great opportunity to add to her confidence & these workshops are perfect! She can’t wait for the next one!"  Amy, mother of Miss 10

"When my daughter came home Thursday night after your session, she was so proud of her Girl Power pack, what she had written and what others had affirmed. I saw after a very long year of tears and temper a glimmer of self-esteem and confidence I have not seen in such a long time. Thank you!!!!Victoria (parent of school workshop participant)

"My daughter truly had the greatest of times and was so excited to come home and share what she had learnt. Thank you so much!"  Magda, mother of Miss 8

"My 8 year old daughter, Rachel recently attended the 1-day Girl Power workshop. Even though my daughter is fairly confident in certain situations, she can be shy and often doubts herself. She came away from this workshop with a new skill set to give her added confidence and also some great tools to handle situations such as conflict within friendship groups, which will be so important in these next few years and then for life! I definitely recommend Girl Power for all girls!" Lauren, mother of Rachel (8)

"I had a fantastic time - I really loved making the friendship cupcake, playing the game show and meeting my coaches Olivia and Maria. It was fun hanging out with all the other girls and learning how to respect myself and love myself, the way I am"  Rachel (8)

"When I picked them up at the end of the day, they said 'Mum, I made friends' & 'when can we go back?' Definitely will be looking at others sessions in the future" Bec, mother of Miss 7 and 9

"I was so impressed with how the workshop ran. The activities were all great fun with a positive and empowering message underlying each of them. The girls finished the day with tools to help them think more positively about themselves and how they handle the inevitable difficulties they face in social situations. Fabulous. I highly recommend Girl Power workshops!" Natushka, mother of Josie (9)

"My daughter and her friend had such a wonderful time. They were busy talking about their favourite parts (all of it) and it's been wonderful to see them put into practice some of the things they learnt such as their gratitude box. Wish there had been workshops like this for me when I was young. Thanks for this" Jess, mother of Matilda (11)

"A fabulous workshop for young ladies to encourage positive mind set, supportive behaviours and self value” Debbie, Primary School Teacher

"I have already been asked if she can go again next holidays! Thank you!" Debra, parent

"Maddy had an amazing time at the Girl Power workshop. I highly recommend these workshops aimed at building strong self esteem and confidence in young girls." Amanda, mother of Maddy (8)
