With Nationally acclaimed comedians Michael Shafar and Vanessa Mitchell in town for Darwin Fringe, we thought it would be fun to do a pre-Fringe Comedy and Hip Hop Night to give people a sneak peak of some of the delights in store at the Fringe and some sweet beats and tasty rhymes to get everyone in the Fringe mood.

The line up is dynamic, We have Michael Shafar and Vanessa Mitchell as our joint headliners (is there such a thing). We have two phenomenal lady MCs/female rappers Emcille and JOrdan Choo bringing some nasty fun and we have local comedians Kelly Gulliver and Chris Little delivering some serious and quirky fun. Will Crawford will be your cheeky, kimono-clad MC.

Michael Shafar -

In 2016, Michael burst onto the comedy scene in the RAW Comedy National Final, represented Australia in the Laugh Factory's Funniest Person in the World Competition and toured across Asia, headlining at the continent's biggest clubs.

He has since gone on to appear on Network 10's The Project and Studio 10, ABC's Comedy Bites, triple j's Good Az Friday, and toured four shows around the country, regularly selling out at Australia's major festivals, including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

He's also had 10+ millions views online, most of which are probably anti-vaxxers who hate-follow him on TikTok.

He is currently touring his latest show The Return of Shafar, which promises to solve all of the world's problems. Oh, and he has a special coming out later this year with Comedy Dynamics, so keep an eye out for that.
