Brisbane German Week | 1 - 9 October 2021

RSVP 9 Oct | Let's SauerKraut!
This event has reached maximum capacity, we thank you for your understanding.

SAUERKRAUT??

Well... Sauerkraut is known to be the German food! The „Krauts“ in Australia celebrate German Week. And we have prepared for a delightful night of food at the Miele Experience Centre in Newstead. But there is not only Sauerkraut 😉

This year the difficulty level will be increased after Oktoberfest Brisbane won the title of Spätzle-Master last year! There will be two dishes that were traditionally cooked in former East Germany. Two teams will be cooking, German students will be judging, and challenges will be entertaining! Only a very limited number of guests will be able to see the show live and everyone else will be able to join in the live stream like last year (which had a reach of over 4000, 170 comments including votes for their favourite team!).

In light of recent changes to Queensland Government restrictions relating to the pandemic, a COVID safe plan is implemented for all BGW events and masks must be worn. Please note the following additional event restrictions apply:

  • Indoor – 1 person per 4 square metres or 75% capacity with ticketed and allocated seating
  • Smaller venues up to 200 square metres – 1 person per 2 square metres, up to a maximum of 50
  • Outdoor – 1 person per 2 square metres
  • Eating and drinking must be seated
  • No dancing except at weddings.
