Mittagong full day: Visitor Economy Industry Development Workshop - Destination Sydney Surrounds South

Presented by business and tourism experts Sparrowly Group on behalf of Destination Sydney Surrounds South, the Visitor Economy Industry Development Workshops will:

• deepen your knowledge of the sector and how to maximise it for your business
• give you the the tools and knowledge to progress through the tourism business journey
• provide you with resources to create your travel trade kit
• give you the opportunity to connect with other business owners from your region.

These workshops are open to all tourism businesses at any stage of their business journey. Light refreshments will be provided.

The three workshops include:

9-11 am, Creating Awesome Tourism Experiences 

This workshop will unpack what an experience is and outline the types of experiences that visitors to the region are seeking. Explore travel trends and unpack the customer journey to identify ways at each part you can refine your tourism experience. 

This workshop is for businesses who are looking to create an experience or those that already have an experience that are looking to refine it. We will work through mapping out the experience that you could create and/or identify areas that you could improve your existing experience.

12-2 pm, Working with the Media and Tourism Ecosystem 

This workshop will teach you ways to become a storyteller and create media coverage for your business. It will outline ways that you can work with the broader tourism industry and media ecosystem, with tips on crafting your story and tools for pitching your business.

3-5 pm, Distribution - How to increase bookings to your business

This workshop will unpack what distribution means and identify key partners to work with. Most importantly, how you can work with them to save time and earn you more money in converting bookings by becoming distribution ready.
