DAVID NEWMAN-WHITE
David Newman-White is an acclaimed master visual artist and teacher with around 35 years' experience. He has studied and exhibited in Australia and internationally and has taught at the National Art School and Liverpool, Penrith and Seaforth TAFES, The Gallery School, Meadowbank Northern Institute TAFE, Nepean Art and Design Centre, Western Sydney Institute and the Norman Lindsay Gallery and Museum (National Trust).
David lives with his wife Lesley in Lithgow.
Gang Gang Gallery is pleased to offer a 2-day life drawing workshop with David in which participants will learn to overcome the fear of putting down that first line and build confidence with alternative techniques.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediate artists.
WHAT: Life drawing with model - small class of 8 participants
WHERE: Gang Gang Gallery, 206 Main Street, Lithgow WHEN: Saturday and Sunday 22 and 23 February 2025.
TIMES: Morning 11am-1pm. Afternoon 2pm-4pm both days
COST: $320 for two day workshop
WHAT TO BRING
Day one: "Overcoming the fear of putting that first line down"
- Graphite pencils and graphite sticks, vinyl eraser, kneadable eraser
- Cartridge paper pad - A1,2 or 3 size
- Support - board large enough to support your pad, plus 4 large clips
- If you prefer to work on an easel, please let us know as there are a few available, alternatively we have tables to work on
Day two: "Building confidence with alternative techniques"
- Willow charcoal sticks - thin, medium and thick
- Cartridge paper pad - A1, 2 or 3 size
- 2 sheets of Stonehenge paper, any tone
Lunch will be provided
Tea, coffee and biscuits all day
