Cook and the Pacific Exhibition - National Library of Australia
COOK AND THE PACIFIC - National Library of Australia
Visitors to Cook and the Pacific will follow in Cook’s wake over the course of three remarkable voyages, and explore the Pacific through the eyes of the British voyagers and the First Nations peoples they met. Focusing on place, the exhibition presents a series of meetings anchored on Pacific coastlines including Tahiti, New Zealand, the east coast of Australia, Hawaii and more. With content drawn from the Library’s own collection and from other Australian and international cultural institutions, visitors will be enthralled by the varied items including manuscripts, rare books, large oil paintings, delicate watercolours by voyage artists, medallions, cartoons and poetry.
