SafeWork NSW

SafeWork NSW have implemented the Work Health and Safety Roadmap for NSW 2022 , which drives statewide activities for improvement in work health and safety in NSW. It is aimed not only at the regulator, but at peak bodies, associations, community leaders, and each employer and worker. The Roadmap has the Vision – ‘Healthy, safe, and productive working lives’ – and sets out targets to measure success .

One of the three target areas in the Roadmap is the reduction of serious musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses.  Hazardous manual tasks are the most common cause of injury in the workplace, accounting for 29 per cent of injuries in NSW.

The Musculoskeletal Disorders Symposium forms part of the SafeWork NSW 2017 - 2022 MSD Strategy and SafeWork NSW’s Work Health and Safety Roadmap for NSW 2022 commitment to reduce serious musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses by 30 per cent by 2022.

Join us on 8-9 November in Sydney to share research and ideas about best-practice approaches to managing hazardous manual tasks and prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in the workplace.
