We are extremely happy to announce that the 15th Didgeridoo Camp will be held on 6 - 8 May 2022. Didgeridoo Camp is a Didgeridoo event for boys and men of all ages and levels. NOTE: ONLY 50 TICKETS AVAILABLE 

INFORMATION

Just bring your camping gear (tent - caravan - camper - swag) and Didgeridoo :-). We look after all the other stuff. The Didgeridoo workshops and live performances are done by legend and Didgeridoo Virtuoso William Barton and talented didgeridoo - guitarist Ben Barker. The weekend also includes the opportunity to make your own Didgeridoo. We acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Owners of Ipswich; the Yagara Language Group.

ABOUT WILLIAM BARTON

William Barton is widely recognised as Australia’s leading didgeridoo player as well as a highly esteemed composer, instrumentalist, and vocalist. He has performed as a solo artist as well as collaboratively with orchestras, string quartets and mixed ensembles, traditional dance groups and fusion/rock jazz bands performing with his own works, others work, and improvisation often inspired by his surrounds at the time. William has a strong desire to give back to his culture, people, and community. One of his greatest enjoyments is his involvement in workshops with schools and children all over Australia, where he teaches the next generation didgeridoo and storytelling.

ABOUT BEN BARKER

Ben Barker is a talented Didgeridoo and guitarist. He is combining his Aboriginal Australian heritage, the past and the present to create a truly unique sound !

From the streets to city hall, for homeless to millionaires . Ben Barker original combination of simultaneous Didgeridoo and guitar will stimulate the dreaming and awaken the Dreamtime serpent. Melodically his instrumentals go from Grunge alternate rock.. Ben tells a story of love, loss, friends and family through music and his experience. This weekend he is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and music, stories in a intimate setting underneath the stars surrounded by eucalyptus trees and our friendly wild life.

CULTURAL EDUCATION and SMOKING CEREMONY

Marlon Riley - Birrmba is an accomplished storyteller, song-man and dancer. During the weekend he will share his knowledge and stories about local history and meanings in cultural workshops. He will also be holding a smoking ceremony and a dance workshop

ART WORKSHOP

Over the weekend Eckybow a descendant from far north New South Wales Gamilaroi tribe and the Northern Territory Warumungu tribe will give you the opportunity to learn and understand the symbols and stories used in a boomerang painting workshop

MAKE YOUR OWN DIDGERIDOO WORKSHOP

The weekend also includes the opportunity to make your own Didgeridoo. We'll you guide through the process of making your own eucalyptus Didgeridoo to take home with you. The Didgeridoos we use during our workshops are authentic and naturally hollowed out by termites. No living trees or animals have been harmed or damaged in the process. We use quality Red Box and Yellow Box Eucalyptus logs for our workshops; they are seasoned and ready to be carved. Learn how to make your own didgeridoo that includes: stripping, sanding, chiseling, painting, tuning and making a mouthpiece out of natural beeswax. All equipment, tools and safety wear are supplied. ONLY 15 SPOTS AVAILABLE

WELCOME TO COUNTRY

We are extremely honored that Aunty Roma is doing the welcome to country this year. Aunty Roma is a traditional owner from South East Queensland and her ancestral connections are with the Turrbal, Jagera (Yugara) and Danggan Balun (Yugambeh/Ngarangwal) peoples. Her skin name is ninyieri banjilann (blue butterfly) and she has a clan totem of the wongari (pretty faced wallaby). The mibunn (wedge tailed eagle) represents one of her language group totems

CATERING

Included in the ticket are all the beautiful meals and snacks prepared and served by our beautiful Chef Mei Eng. Cooked on open fire and served in the Didge Dining Room you will enjoy three course meals with creative desserts, freshly made breakfasts and mouth watering lunches. All drinks including water, coffee and thee are included in the ticket. Our Malaysian chef Mei Eng has more then 25 years experience in food preparation, Creating a delicious mix of Western and Asian fusion food that will keep on surprising us over the weekend. She told us her secret ingredient is love. Lots of great meals to enjoy during the weekend

WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED

Included in the tickets are the accommodation facilities on camping grounds, firewood, parking, security, all meals including water, tea and freshly brewed coffee. Stage and equipment hire, Didgeridoo workshops and performers fee.

Refund Policy

Refunds up to 14 days before the event, Attendees can receive refunds up to 14 days before your event start date. If Didgeridoo Festivals have to cancel an event, in which case refunds will be made in full to each ticket holder. 14 day before event is last day of cancellation.
