Ray Beadle
Ray's guitar and vocal styles evoke numerous blues legends, whilst concocting a breathtaking style all of his own. It is not by chance that Ray has become a favourite amongst Australian blues and music fans. An exhilarating guitarist, an enthralling singer-songwriter, and an extremely talented performer, Ray was awarded Best Album, Best Song, and Best Male Artist in the Chain Blues Awards.
Ray is the genuine article, his music comes deep from the heart and soul, stirring emotions in people with his guitar genius. Ray’s music is rich with a deep history of the Blues; Rich from 20 years of experiences garnered from performing Nationally and Internationally; and rich from a deep understanding of his instrument and how to make it stir something within the listener. He knows that’s what the Blues is about. Ray’s life as a musician started when he was just 9, and for the next 20 years, Ray has played with and learnt from the best, including many years spent performing and recording with the Foreday Riders; (commonly referred to as the ‘University of the Blues’).
Ray has shared the stage with many great Australian and International artists and has thrilled countless festival audiences. A three-month residency with the house band in BB King’s Club in Memphis, as well as several Southern Blues festivals, were all defining moments during Ray’s three tours to the USA.
Charlie A’Court Growing up in the deep forests north of his hometown of Truro, NovaScotia, acclaimed singer/songwriter Charlie A’Court spent his youth playing among the trees and listening to his father’s record collection. The rugged and rural countryside offered calming isolation from the outside world where Charlie would explore his musical playground. This instilled a comfortable relationship with the idea of solitude and would form the basis of Charlie’s new album, “San Palarino”.
Planted at the crossroads of roots and soul, Charlie possesses a mighty voice, and fierce guitar work whose heart-on-his-sleeve songwriting tells the stories of hard love, wandering souls and everyday heartaches. As a six-time East Coast Music Award winner and eight-time Nova ScotiaMusic Award winner, Charlie has earned awards for Blues, Pop, and R&B/Soul Recordings of the Year, and on multiple occasions been recognized as Entertainer of the Year. A’Court is also an in-demand songwriter having co-written songs for other ECMA winning artists like Christine Campbell, Mike Biggar, and Quote The Raven. San Palarino, is an Americana-driven deep dive into growing older, emotional well-being, and the collective weight bearing down on humanity.
The album features co-writes with some of Canada’s top singer/songwriters including Matt Andersen, Terra Spencer, and ColinMacDonald (The Trews). The music is drawing directly from his folk-rock influences like Martin Sexton, Melissa Etheridge, Hot House Flowers, andJason Isbell & The 400 Unit. The lead single, ”Two Days of Highway" is an upbeat, electric-roots song capturing that feeling of being away from home for weeks on end and counting down those last, long 48 hours before you finally get home to your loved-ones.
