MIXED BUSINESS

MIXED BUSIINESS is a freshly debuting contemporary jazz quintet made up of students from the Sydney Conservatorium, led by Trombonist LEE ORSZACZKY & Trumpeter BRADEN CLARKE.

Best known as exactly one half of contemporary big band Mosaic (whose recently released record Where We Are Now debuted at #2 on the ARIA Jazz Charts in 2025), Mixed Business will be stepping out & cutting loose for one night only at Dulwich Hill’s very own Butchers Brew Bar.

LEE ORSZACZKY is a Sydney-based trombonist, bandleader & educator active on the jazz, pop & world music scenes. He has played with a variety of Sydney & Australia’s most popular acts, including Jazz outfit the catholics, as well as leading trombone sections in James Ryan’s Sonic Boom, the Melaleuca Jazz Orchestra & many other large jazz ensemble projects.

BRADEN CLARKE is a versatile musician hailing from Port Macquarie, with extensive brass band & theatre experience informing a uniquely warm & lyrical sound. Relatively fresh to the Sydney Jazz scene, his playing is influenced by the likes of Chet Baker, Blue Mitchell & Donald Byrd.

Backed by the Tesserae Trio (T-Ray, Watt, Simmonds), Mixed Business will be playing modern tunes from composers such as Jared Schonig, Woody Shaw & Agnes Darelid, as well as Clarke & Orszaczky’s originals.
