Upon receiving a 2013 Australia Council JUMP Grant, Henry formed this young Sydney/Canberra quartet, influenced by European artists including Jaga Jazzist and the Ilmiliekki Quartet, and focusing on through-composed structure and post-bop harmony.

Renowned bassist and composer Steve Hunter returns to the Jazzgroove stage with his relatively new quartet project, featuring several of his long-term collaborators. A rare chance to see these four heavyweights strut their stuff in tandem. This is going to be an old-fashioned roof-raiser!

What is Jazzgroove?

Jazzgroove is a not for profit organisation presenting high-quality original and improvised music from various jazz related cannons. Our focus is on musicians who are in the early stages of forming a national and international career. Jazzgroove's purpose is to nurture upcoming musicians by allowing a platform and performance opportunity to an established audience through our weekly Tuesday double bill events, marketing/ promotion support while also providing a dialogue and mentorship between past Jazzgroove performers and more experienced musicians.
