Synopsis
Michael Peterson was the best surfer in Australia between 1972 and
1977 and won virtually every surfing contest in Australia in that time.
Along with Rabbit and PT from Bustin Down the Door , he was one of the original Coolie Kids, and the surfer they were trying to beat. The star of seminal surfing film Morning of the Earth he was the winner of the first ever event of the modern world tour.
In 1983 he was locked up after a 15 car police chase across
Queensland and finally diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. He never
surfed again.
