Searching for Michael Peterson Film

We a bunch of local surfers and the local chapter of the disabled surfers asscociation are proud to present as a fundraiser for charity the surf film "Searching for Michael Peterson" which chronicles the incredible life of one of Australia's greatest and most misunderstood surfers from the 1970,s Michael Peterson. This film by Jolyon Hoff, highlights the issue of mental illness and its devastating effect on a legendary surfer who imploded under its weight and  left his world in tatters...this film gives hope  for all of the surfers tribe that this taboo subject of depression and mental illness can be discussed frankly and openly....we are also proud to premiere in Barwon heads the surf flick by Rod Sumpter"Free Form" which covers the lead up to the 1970 world titles at Bells Beach and features the likes of Wayne Lynch, Rolf Aurness and Midget Farrelly and Nat Young to name a few.The film will screen at 7.00 pm on the 24th October 2009 at the Barwon Heads Hall.
