Enjoy a two hour performance of:

‘Old American Songs’ Set I and II by A. Copland.

Copland was an American composer affectionately given the label of ‘the grandfather of American Music’. He is best known for his ability to achieve a balance between the modern musical ideas of the time and American folk tunes. Both sets of Old American song are arrangements of American folk tunes and all have a light-hearted and cheeky disposition as they show us a little piece of Americana.
