Welcome to the third of our successful series of fundraising evenings for Martenitsa choir to help finance their trip to sing in Italy in 2010.

Absorbing and intense, remarkably photographed in a mesmerising voyeuristic style, this is film noir at its best. Adapted from the novel by Grazia Verasani, Quo Vadis Baby? follows a feisty female private investigator as she re-opens the case of her sister’s suicide sixteen years ago. A shocking and sad portrait of her sibling’s life as a would-be model and actress begins to emerge. The movie is anchored by the ferocious performance of Angela Baraldi. Her exquisitely detailed, powerful performance allows the film to soar. Claudia Zanella is a revelation as the sister. Her performance exists only via videotapes, yet it is an eerily disturbing and bewitching in turn. This is a sophisticated and surprising film, that manages to be both exciting and distinctive.
