' A Woman's Work is never done - women, politics and change'

Enjoy a relaxed evening with former member of parliament, Dr Mary Crawford

We know the statistics, Australian women are not well represented in politics, on boards or in other leadership roles.Today there are only 40 women in the House of Representatives and 27 Senators.

 - What are the barriers to women's participation in politics?

 - Is it the system itself or the parliament?
Perhaps it is the way in which the media has portrayed women MPs over the years. Many would argue they are subject to more scrutiny than their male colleagues.

What we do know is that when there are difficult political times women MPs have been called on - Amanda Vanstone, Joan Kirner, Kristina Kenneally and Anna Bligh all come to mind.

Join us for a relaxed evening with Dr Crawford who will share an insight into her journey and the way women's parliamentary representation has changed over the years, their place in politics and their leadership style.

There will be plenty of time for questions, networking, good food and drinks, as well as an opportunity to win fabulous prizes and support our charity of the month - Coffs Coast Autism Association.
