A Click Fix
online marketing success strategy
Do you have an online marketing strategy? Or, are you suffering online overwhelm and missing the opportunity to substantially grow your business?
It was that feeling of overwhelm that drove Belinda to learn internet marketing. As a General Manager she knew the website wasn’t working but not why or how to fix it. She knew she should be leveraging video, social media and more but didn’t know how or where to start. No one seemed to be offering an analysis of the problems or a solution - just selling very expensive band aids. So, she sought out an internet marketing mentor and education in the online marketing process from market research to keywords to content to websites, SEO, traffic and conversions and now partners local small business to move from overwhelm to success online.
Belinda will demystify online marketing reducing it to a simple formula everyone can understand. If you have ever wondered how you can create an authority presence on page 1, how competitive local business markets actually are, or whether you really need to be online - all will be revealed.
A little about Belinda Faulkner
I began my working life teaching trombone (and then the entire brass section) to the local school kids. This was a great way to learn to be innovative, imaginative and inspirational because I had to be to keep their attention!
My first “real” career in the hallowed halls of science involved in tying down and milking bullants. It grew from there into an Australia wide survey of surface waters for two parasites Cryptosporidium and Giardia. My time in science gave me some insight into marketing - the best projects don’t always get the money - discipline and critical thinking.
From there I moved into pharmaceuticals in both animal and human health as a Quality Assurance Manager. During that time I learnt a lot about systems and procedures - for which I have a natural affinity. I also had to use marketing skills to win commitment and compliance.
At this point I left that career, took up picture framing, sold everything I owned, bought a campervan and went traveling. During this time I did some fruit picking and cleaning before landing a job as an advertising sales rep in Tasmania - a job I neither wanted nor applied for!
Upon returning to Sydney I helped someone with some charitable work on a project involving HIV prevention in PNG. I spoke at the PNG Medical Symposium on HIV/AIDS in Mt Hagen, got to have very personal and intimate discussions with local women and to present my findings to the Australian High Commissioner in PNG.These experiences outside a normal career path taught me a lot about people, about fitting in and the masks or roles we all play. What I didn’t realise was that I was learning about persuasion, social proof and how to leverage them in real life settings.
The person I was helping was living with cancer so I combined help with caring. I learnt Hawaiian massage and healing methods. This time taught me a lot about the power of the mind and the subconscious.
I found I enjoyed the marketing and business side more than the massage. I naturally seemed to fall into the running of the centres in which I worked because my passion lay there. I decided to take a front desk role in a natural therapy based business from where I quickly progressed to general manager and was responsible for opening a further two clinics - one in NZ and a second in Sydney - bringing the number of clinics to 6.
I constructed an entire training program, manuals, position descriptions, a recruitment system, and implemented systems, policies and procedures for every aspect of the organisation. I really was a General manager! I experienced huge pain about our website. We had one but it wasn’t working.
So I learnt internet marketing and now focus on helping local small business overcome the same online overwhelm I felt. I now focus on empowering businesses to be effective online, to control their strategies and make sound online business decisions because they understand them -
