Music has the power to speak directly to the soul. Perhaps that’s why, for centuries, composers have been inspired by notions of angels, seraphim and cherubim.

This program takes its name from a sparkling and uplifting work for choir and two harps by British composer Will Todd which will receive its Australian premiere alongside enduring classics such as Allegri’s soaring Miserere, Palestrina’s imploring Stabat Mater and Barber’s poignant Agnus Dei.  New works by Australian composers Clare Maclean and Christopher Gordon as well as John Tavener’s iconic Song for Athene and Michael Nyman’s powerful and innovative Miserere promise an ecstatic and rapturous feast for the soul.
