You can find the answers in JEWELS OF LATIN AMERICA, a showcase of outstanding choral gems from Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela - with extra pearls inspired by the music of Latin America from Australia’s Joseph Twist and the USA’s Elliot Z. Levine.

Coro Austral, Sydney’s specialist Spanish and Latin American chamber choir, conducted by Margot McLaughlin, will be joined by Chilean/Australian musician Hernan Flores on vocals, percussion and guitar in a concert of traditional and contemporary works that are at the heart of Latin American choral music.

The performance will be further enriched with the music of Sor Juana – Mexico’s answer to Hildegard von Bingen – and three masters of the Cuban choral tradition, Esteban Salas, Electo Silva and Beatriz Corona.

Come and enjoy some well-known songs and less familiar treasures
at 3pm, Sunday 7 July in St Augustine’s Church Hall, Eaton St. Balmain
