Topic: “Small Biz Connect”
Guest Speaker: Colin Merrick
Colin Merrick has lived in the Hunter area all his life. With a Master in Business and over 20 years in the retail industry working in management roles within the Stockland Trust Group, Mitre 10 Hardware, Rural Press Limited and owning small businesses himself, Colin has worked with over 500 small business owners assisting them in all facets of management, marketing and retail.
Colin will be taking about the new “Small Biz Connect” small business help program
The program services micro to small business with a goal of continuing to make a persons business a success. Mostly funded by the State Government, any small business can apply.
The small biz connect program includes a special diagnostic process that looks deeper into your business and extracts key data to provide insight into your current performance and business potential.
The Business Centre has been chosen by the State Government to deliver the “Small Biz Connect” program.
Topic: White Ribbon Foundation
We will also have representatives and supporters of the White Ribbon Foundation. The Foundation is the largest global male led movement to stop domestic violence. In Australia men and boys including many prominent people, politicians, sporting hero's take the oath and some take on the role of Ambassadors. Cessnock is unfortunately high on the list of Domestic Violence offenders. We have no women's refuge in our town. We do have an outreach worker from Carrie's Place at Maitland. Here is your chance to make a difference and swear never to commit excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
