The Brisbane Improv Festival is a celebration of Brisbane's diverse and talented community.

From the 22nd - 29th July 2023 Big Fork Theatre will host the return of the Brisbane Improv Festival after a successful 2022 Festival. Celebrating all things improvised comedy, the Brisbane Improv Festival will showcase some of this city’s best and most innovative comedians and performers as well as visiting guests across eight nights of live shows and workshops, handpicked to deliver you the funniest week of improv this side of the river!

New Works by William Shakespeare
Presented by Edge Improv (Brisbane, Qld)

We were cleaning the lounge room and when we checked behind the couch we found a previously undiscovered Shakespeare play! You are invited to the world premiere of this lost classic. Join our band of improvisers, guided by the bard himself who will present this lost story. This show has tragedy, comedy and is surprisingly relevant to modern life. It's almost as though the performers are making it up out of whole cloth as you watch.

Inspired by Shakespeare, directed by Brad Daniels, and featuring f Anne Pensalfini and a gathering of talented groundlings. Do come along for intrigue, drama, and insults we unveil “New Works by William Shakespeare!”

Women's Show

Have you ever wondered about the perspective of the possum in your sharehouse, or how your dad really feels about singing sea shanties? Get answers to every question you never knew to ask with the women and nonbinary performers of Big Fork Theatre. Some of the funniest, fastest and boldest improvisers will let loose on stage and bring you laughs, and maybe feelings.
