Energetic Zen Quintet

Energetic Zen Quintet is a new fresh original dynamic acoustic fusion jazz project led by Indonesian drummer & percussionist Deva Permana, along with pianist Casey Golden, double bassist Hannah James, saxophonist Simon Chadwick & guitarist Felix Lalanne.  Between them they have racked up years of Jazz & music achievement awards in Australia & worldwide. Their diverse musical backgrounds create an exciting dynamic, exotic & unique soundscape.

⭐️  Deva Permana, drummer, percussionist, composer, & Indonesian gamelan karawitan musician. 

⭐️  Casey Golden, pianist  & composer, comes from a family of Australian jazz musicians spanning several generations. 

⭐️  Simon Chadwick, saxophonist has performed with James Morrison, recorded with Bobby Shew & at the 2005 Monterey Jazz Festival, among other career hughlights..

⭐️  Hannah James, bassist & composer, was the 2011 recipient of the Jann Rutherford Memorial Award for Women in jazz. 

⭐️  Felix Lalanne, guitarist & composer, won 3rd place in the 2017 Montreux jazz guitar competition, returning in 2018 to perform with the Montreux Academy alongside other finalists & Chick Corea’s acoustic trio.
