CJ STRANGER

After a stellar EP launch in May, CJ STRANGER returns once again to Butchers Brew but this time with his trio featuring JOSH SPOLC & CRAIG COLLIER. The band will presenting new material as well as Stranger favourites.

Increasingly sought after for his unique and creative guitar sound, CJ has become an in-demand session player for many artists including William Crighton, Melody Pool, Middle Kids, John Schumann (Redgum), Lisa McCune, Angie Who, Magpie Diaries & toured extensively in bands opening for Midnight Oil, Bloc Party & the War on Drugs. In 2022 CJ toured Australia & NZ in a new theatre play by Connor Mcpherson & Bob Dylan entitled ‘Girl from the North Country’. 

CJ’s latest EP 'Folk Songs for End Times' takes the listener on a journey through a post-apocalyptic Australia. The characters are searching for both answers & hope as they traverse a barren landscape. There are cautionary tales, bush poetry & narrative songs all set to CJ’s distinctive exploratory guitar & banjo style.
