Join us for an episode of On The Couch as we host Danyelle Mei Kaplan (they/them) and Egan Magee (he/him) to talk about relationships and well being from the angle of collective holding, mutual aid and community.
Egan provides remedial massage at Every Body Massage for queer and/or trans people, people with disability and chronic illness, survivors of trauma and those living with chronic pain. His work space is trauma informed, body neutral and caring.
Danyelle is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker of colour, with a decade of experience working in clinical and community organisations on Lenapehoking (New York City) and Gadigal (Sydney) lands. They have specialist experience providing anti-oppressive & healing-centred support and counselling with young people of diverse genders, sexualities and intersex variations (LGBTQ2IA+). Danyelle is a proud member of Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AUSPATH), the Australasian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Lilly Pilly Counselling Consortium and Open Dialogue Psychotherapy. They are in solidarity with and committed to centering people of colour & diverse cultures in this work, especially Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islands and South Sea Islands peoples.
Their areas of experience are: LGBTQ2IA+ youth and mental health, gender diversity and transition support, trauma, domestic violence & dynamics of power and control, systems of privilege & oppression, burnout, homelessness, grief and survival.
