Join us for music and conversation with one of Australia's leading and most widely performed international composers – Luke Styles. This event will be an exploration into the collection of Luke’s works held by the NLA, through performance and conversation. Luke and musical collaborator Tobias Cole will discuss Luke's work, his career and the role the Library plays in creating a living collection of prominent Australian artists' works. Performances from the NLA collection will include Luke's vocal music (Vanity written for the Glyndebourne Festival and All Howl at Once a song cycle for young people commissioned by the Aldeburgh Festival) as well as two of his chamber works for strings. Performers include violinist Brad Tham, members of CSO Chorus, Canberra Children’s Choir (Music for Canberra), Vocal Fry (ANU Community Music Centre), pianist Linus Lee and conductor Tobias Cole.
