SALLY KING SINGS HER OWN

You are invited to experience the outstanding songwriting & singing of SALLY KING in the intimate setting of Butchers Brew Bar.  This intimate performance will provide an insight into the true artistry of Sally King.

Sally is Sydney blues royalty, a pioneer of women in blues & veteran of the Sydney rhythm’n’blues scene from late ‘70s to the present.  Known as the High Priestess of Blues & recent Sydney Blues Society Hall of Fame inductee, Sally will be playing her original songs selected from a body of work between 1979-2025, telling tales based around her musical life & the inspiration for her songs, & her rich back story featuring legends such as Bo Diddley & Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Rhythm & melody feature in Sally’s tunes with plenty of soul & bluesy feels, a bit of bossa & some surprises - all delivered with passion & finesse.  Sally’s original songs have been heard from the stage throughout her career in her bands Mona & the Wail, The Champions, Sally King Band, The Mustangs, SameTribe, PKD & Repeat Offenders, a highlight being playing along side Shane Pacey & Clayton Doley in their blues supergroup PACEY KING & DOLEY at Bluesfest 2022. 

Other recognition of Sally’s talents includes her nomination as Sydney Blues Society’s Favourite Female Singer 2021 & The Bondi Cigars' inclusion of her song ‘The Pain’ on their Bad Weather Blues album 1992.  Sally will be joined by three consummate musicians, all active members of Sydney’s live music scene: David Green, Pedro Mello & Karl Mardon.
