Tabla player Bobby Singh, a disciple of the great maestro Aneesh Pradhan, is one of the most sought-after musicians on the Australian world music circuit and is the first choice for musicians from India touring Australia and New Zealand.

Bobby has played with such luminaries as Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Purbayan Chatterjee, Shashank Subramanium & Guru Karaikudimani amongst many others.

Outside of the milieu of Indian classical music, Bobby has also formed many partnerships with some of Australia’s best known musicians. Crossing many styles of music from Drum & Bass with The Bird to Western Classical with Slava Grigoryan to Blues & Roots with John Butler & Jeff Lang.

For this show he will be joined by the amazing Damian Wright.  Damian is a Flamenco guitarist based in Sydney, who began Flamenco study with Robbie Varga in Sydney and then moved to Spain where he spent 4 years studying with some of Spain’s most recognised maestros of the Flamenco guitar, including El Entri, Pepe Justicia, David Serva and Jose Luis "Balao".

Damian is musical director of Sydney based flamenco ensemble BANDALUZIA and THE DAMIAN WRIGHT QUINTET and performs with DIANA REYES FLAMENCO as well as fusion groups THE TRANSLATORS and TRIO RASA DUENDE.

Damian has also supported such artists as grammy award winner Mamadou Diabate, Jazz legend Richard Bona, Brazillian singers Bebel Gilberto, Fernanda Takai and String Quartet Fourplay.

Horse and wood is recent project combining the sounds of the Mongolian Horse Fiddle and Harmonic throat singing from Bukhchuluun Ganburged with the classic Arabian textures of the Oud playing of John Robinson. The result is frequently undefinable but always spectacular.

Mongolian horse Fiddle meets an Oud (The Wood in Arabic) in a unique fusion of galloping Mongolian rhythms, sparkling harmonic singing, and the warm, evocative nuances of the oud, and other exotic strings. An ethereal delight!
