About the Presenter

George Ilk’s mindset draws on techniques, strategies and tips derived from sources as diverse as Rupert Murdoch’s nephew (a BRW Rich 200 member and a former business partner of George’s) as well as the world class intellectual property in business strategy of Dr Steven French who is George’s current business partner.

George will walk you through how, as a public company CEO, he was able to increase company profits by 346% from 2003 to 2004 and then, to prove it wasn’t a fluke, how as CEO of another public company George took company profits up by 512% from 2005 to 2006. George will explain the strategic mindset that enabled this to happen and how you can successfully adopt the same mindset for your business regardless of whether you have a staff of 5, 50 or 500.

George has managed and operated a diverse range of businesses during a career spanning more than 30 years. As well as having owned and managed small businesses as varied as hairdressing salons, lawn and garden maintenance and professional services, George has also served in roles as Chief Executive Officer, Director, General Counsel, Responsible Officer and Company Secretary of public companies operating in fields as diverse as forestry, financial services, employment services, business advisory services and training & education.
