Starting a small business can be extremely daunting for many people– from registering a business, tax, recruitment, business plans, finance and marketing.
Our Starting a Small Business workshop, with small business expert, Rosemary Spiteri, will guide you through the most common issues, including accessing government grants and low rate business loans, insurance implications, public liability, advertising, GST and BAS. This two-hour workshop is consistently one of BEC’s most popular and well-attended events on our calendar, and has been the springboard for many successful small businesses.
Designed specifically for those wanting to start a business from home or open a small business in retail or hospitality, Rosemary shares her enormous knowledge and expertise openly with participants, in a warm and collegial environment.
You will walk away with a firm understanding of how to:
• Register a business name
• Register for an ABN
• Understand a commercial lease
• Navigate your way through local, state and federal legislation
• Prepare and lodge your Business Activity Statement
• Prepare a business and marketing plan
• Access Government grants and low rate business loans
• Use social media and online content for low cost, effective advertising
