Details
Making their Foundry616 debut is My Sauce Good, a hot guitar/drums/bass and vocal driven Sydney group whose music is variously described as "bohemian", "cool and sexy", "alternative world music", "kick-ass", "Continental Boogie" and bursting with "bittersweet passion". One thing audiences can expect is bouncy bohemian-rock and soulful jazzy torch song noir ballads, charatcteristically played with heart and attitude.
MSG play original songs with a catchy Caba-Rock edge in Spanish, French and English.
Singer Laura Brozky brings a three-dimensional, international flavour to the group with a compelling cabaret presence and beautiful voice. Co-founding guitarist/songwriter Dirk Kruithof and Brozky write original, narrative songs in Laura’s native tongues and other languages she picked up around the globe.
The past five years have been spent touring nationally and internationally, performing at major Australian and International music festivals from Sydney Festival to UKʼs Secret Garden Party.
The group’s international appeal has ensured an ecstatic reception on a recent tour of Europe, playing to enthusiastic festival and venue crowds in Amsterdam, Florence, Paris, London, Berlin,Corsica, Perugia and throughout Ireland.
Sydney continental stylists MSG perform character-filled cinematic scenes and stories thatwill transport you via fact & fantasy through the past and present. Having recently returned from a successful national tour of ‘Orphan Spirit’ EP, they are busy workingon their new album.
Come and have a dazzling night out!
Lines Of Flight - support act
Opening the night will be a very cool new band, Lines of Flight, a quartet exploring the shared space of jazz-inspired improvisation and song writing informed by rock, classical and electronic musics, taking up the work of artists like Jim Black, Ambrose Akinmusire, Phil Slater, Arve Henriksen and Radiohead.
For this special performance at Foundry 616 Lines of Flight are: Joe Cummins (trumpet and compositions), Sam Pettigrew (electric bass) and Alex Slater (drums) - are thrilled to be joined by their musical hero Alister Spence (Clarion Fracture Zone, Alister Spence Trio, Wanderlust) on piano.
