Join us for the DIABETES across the LIFECOURSE: Northern Australia Partnership 2026 Annual Educational Symposium
The 2026 Educational Symposium will showcase new research and emerging insights into the treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes, with a special focus on the theme of this year’s event:
Improving Diabetes Care Through Culturally Tailored Research.
We are delighted to welcome our key-note speakers Associate Professor Kiarna Brown and Professor Jonathan Shaw.
A/Professor Brown is a First Nations Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Clinical Associate Professor at Charles Darwin University and Co-Lead of the Maternal Health Program at Menzies School of Health Research.
Prof Shaw is Deputy Director, Clinical Science at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, where his research focuses on epidemiology and clinical research in diabetes, and he is also a consultant physician in the diabetes services.
This year's symposium will be hosted from Menzies’ John Mathews Building in Garramilla (Darwin) with satellite sites in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), Gimuy (Cairns) and Narm (Melbourne) as well as online attendance available via Teams.
Save the date and join us in shaping the future of diabetes care through culturally tailored research.
Further program details will be released soon.
