Jo Elms - THE RIGHT TIME

New-Zealand born singer/songwriter Jo Elms has enjoyed an impressive career between her homeland and Australia - amongst many achievements are a top ten single, awards for her original compositions in the 25th Australian National Song writing Contest and Musicoz, electric performances at The Manly International Jazz Festival, The Darling Harbour Jazz and Blues Festival, The Norfolk Island Jazz Festival, The New Zealand International Jazz and Blues Festival and the Java Jazz Festival held in Jakarta Indonesia alongside Chaka Khan, Jamie Cullum and Level 42.

Jo’s debut E.P The Right Time comes across as a timeless classic to the listener who will indeed appreciate the stories & range of emotions behind each song. Recorded & mixed during her time living between Sydney & London, the album showcases her acoustic style, blending her Celtic heritage & her love of jazz & soul music- the result is a collection of country, gospel and pop influenced songs, brought together by magical melodies, slick production & a rich, sweet, edgy voice.

With all her career achievements and a voice that draws comparisons from singers such as Sarah Vaughn, Vanessa Carlton & Chaka Khan, you’ll see why this woman is in great demand.

Produced by Ash Maklad (Ricki Lee, Wendy Matthews), The Right Time features the cream of the Australian music industry - Ben Isackson (Mitch Anderson) on drums, Victor Rounds (Jenny Morris) on bass, Brendan St Ledger (Wendy Matthews) & Sam McNally (Stylus) on keys, Johnson-Jay Medwick Daley (Jim Stapley) & Mark Punch (Margaret Urlich) on guitars.

Heart and soul is poured into every note of each song’s emotive lyrics- The title track ‘The Right Time’, speaks of synchronicity in life, while ‘Here I Am’ transports you straight back in time to your old home-town and listeners have fallen in love with the haunting ‘Stolen by the Sunset’.

The Right Time has recently been added to Amrap's AirIt catalogue for independent artists. Elms travelled to London mid 2013 to promote her debut EP and Foundry616 is thrilled to feature her Sydney launch. Come and hear a stunning artist with a voice that will have you captivated.

A beautifully pure voice with such a great range! The songs are gorgeous, goosebumpy, sweet, catchy pop. Really slick-sounds like it belongs on commercial radio. Love ‘Stolen by the Sunset’-magical melody. Amanda Easton- Poptarts.
