This is a practical workshop so you will need to bring a laptop that you can connect to our wi-fi for the duration of the event.

Blogging is one of the most valuable tools that businesses have to engage with customers and ultimately make their lives easier. If you’re not blogging, it’s time to get started or get left behind. A blog is easy to get started and in this practical workshop, we will walk you through not only the set up process but we will also look at what makes a successful blog and discuss ideas that you can put into practice immediately to get people talking about your brand.

A blog is a simple, easy-to-use platform for connecting with and sharing timely and relevant information with customers. Your blog fuels SEO, search engines love valuable content and will reward you for it. A recent HubSpot survey showed that 60% of businesses who blog acquire more customers, this is because a blog gives your company a voice and creates a place to talk about new products, or services, comment on timely news topics or market trends, and share company initiatives beyond your website. It’s also the place let your brand’s personality shine, show people what you’re all about and share your expertise. How else will you position yourself as a subject area expert and thought leader?

In this practical workshop, you will:

•Set up, manage and update your own Wordpress blog

•Post articles, add images and videos to posts and pages, attach pdfs and insert links to other websites

•Learn the key elements of a successful and engaging blog. (e.g. widgets, personal profile, linking Facebook and Twitter feeds)

•Learn how to ensure your blog is found on Google and other search engines/online.

Benefits. From this workshop you will:

1.Leave with your own blog set up and ready to hit the ground running

2.Gain the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to manage/update your own blog

3.Explore new and meaningful ways to engage with your customers, blog visitors and prospects
