- Montgomery Church -
Cielle Montgomery and James Church are 2 x Golden Guitar Award finalists, ‘Montgomery Church’ - a blend of acoustic folk, americana and bluegrass influences, grown and distilled in the Snowy Mountain ranges of country New South Wales. With their organic union of dobro and guitar, harmony vocals, and thoughtful songwriting, this captivating duo are enthralling in their dynamic intimacy and embrace all that is subtle, spacious, and sensitive. Since their formation, Montgomery Church have been quietly but quickly gathering a fan base who site their undeniable chemistry as a rare and beautiful thing to see live.
“Montgomery Church make a rare kind of hill country magic: spinning gossamer tapestries with timeless acoustic sounds, quicksilver vocal harmonies, and the kind of unassuming storytelling that burrows deep into the subconscious. With their glorious debut LP, the duo frequently draws from the same wellspring as Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, while also tipping their hats to all corners of the trad. country and Americana compass: Few albums of recent memory plumb such depths of feeling with such exquisite ease”….. - Gareth Hipwell (Country Update Magazine)
- Georgia State Line -
Honest, agile, and refreshingly self-assured, Georgia State Line’s unique brand of country-infused melancholy yields music that’s equal parts heartsick and hopeful.
Comprised of some of Melbourne's most celebrated musicians - Tom Brooks, Patrick Wilson and Laura Baxter - and fronted by lauded songwriter Georgia Delves, the band melds both vintage and contemporary sounds to craft songs steeped in Tennessee sunsets. Delves’ voice is effortlessly colourful, lyrical and textural with a depth and grace to rival even the most revered of talents.
Georgia State Line has performed alongside Wagons and Margo Price at Out On The Weekend, at the National Folk Festival, Dashville Skyline Festival, and the Australian Music Week showcase. In a 2018 highlight, the band joined country-blues artist, Eilen Jewell (USA) on a four-date journey across the Australian mainland’s southernmost state, and most recently opened for Justin Townes Earle (USA) on his 2019 Australian & New Zealand tour.
The group release their long-awaited debut album in 2020 via MGM.
- William Alexander -
The captivating voice and guitar picking of 23 year old folk/western singer William Alexander are fast becoming more and more recognizable in the Australian music industry through his roaming performance tours across many stages as well as through many a turntable as folks go about their lives with his AIR Award nominated record “The Kid From Bourke” painting the backdrop.
Folks will now be able possess a new piece of work from the yodelling songster in the form of his brand-new extended play release, “Garlic Pickin’ Time”. The EP was released on September 20th 2019 through Melbourne based independent record label Green South Records. It is the second offering from the partnership of Alexander and recording engineer and owner of Sound Recordings Alex Bennett (C.W. Stoneking, Archer). Recorded live in the Campbells Creek studio on Saturday February 2nd 2019 with Cat Moser (Cat and Clint) returning to her regular role on the fiddle as well as Steve James (Slippry Sid) on the Hawaiian style steel guitar and dobro.
