When Groove Met Jazz.

This Is Acid Jazz, Baby revisits the sound that emerged from London’s underground club scene in the mid-1980s, exploded through the ’90s, and captured the zeitgeist of the era.

With breakout acts including The Brand New Heavies, Incognito and Jamiroquai, this musical movement, also referred to as Nu-Jazz, brought jazz harmony together with the irresistible grooves of funk, soul, hip hop and Latin soul, inspiring a new generation of music lovers and dancers alike.

This Is Acid Jazz, Baby is conceived by Paul Chenard, with musical direction by Tina Harris (Tijuana Taxi), The pair joined forces in the much-loved Afro-Latin jazz outfit Matanza in the early 2000s. Now they’re teaming up again to present this 11-piece ensemble, boasting two standout lead vocalists, and a kicking band of bass, drums, percussion, guitar, three horns and two keyboards, bringing an era back to life with iconic tracks including Dream Come True, Still a Friend of Mine, Roots, Have a Good Time and many more.
