Jep and Dep are Jessica Cassar and Darren Cross (Gerling/Darren Cross Solo) a folk-noir, country twanged duo from Sydney. In October they will be launching their debut album WORD GOT OUT at Django Bar supported by the newly formed duo Jamie Hutchings/Peter Fenton as well as folky songstress De’May.

Jep and Dep will showcase the album with a live performance true to their dark, dramatic and romantic sound; reminisent of great duos like Lee Hazlewood & Nancy Sinatra and even a bit of Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue.

Jep and Dep’s sound harks back to the way songs were recorded in the 60’s with a focus on the song and nothing but the song. Their lyrics are tender and soulful with melodies and performances to match. Jessica’s etherial voice mixed with Darren’s gravely tone makes a sound that is distinctly Jep and Dep. This year the duo have supported music legends ranging from Johnny Marr (The Smiths), Mia Dyson, Jen Cloher with Courtney Barnett, Lindi Ortega and Kristin Hersh as well as playing every folkie-hole in the wall from Tasmania to Berlin.

"..with a sound that might cast them serenading in a saloon in a David Lynch film” -Chris Familton (Post To Wire/ The Music)

“..Jep and Dep are a duo that will melt your heart like a mashmellow at a campfire” -Courtney Barnett in NME magazine.
