Atmospheric-like textures, melodic components, underpinned by rhythmic drive.

Residing in Berlin, Sydney born and bred Mike Majkowski returns to Jazzgroove to present some original music with this group of fine musicians. All members of the group have been active in the Australian and international jazz and improvised music scenes for many years.

Ben Hauptmann will be presenting his music in a trio setting with Jonathan Zwartz and James Hauptmann.
The trio have been performing regularly for the past year and as a listener –
“You feel yourself so surrounded by thickets of enchanting melodies and appealing sounds that, in a can’t-see-the-wood-for-the-trees
effect, the expert musicianship fades into the background.” Gian Slater will be a featured guest at the trios Jazzgroove festival
performance.

What is Jazzgroove?

Jazzgroove is a not for profit organisation presenting high-quality original and improvised music from various jazz related cannons. Our focus is on musicians who are in the early stages of forming a national and international career. Jazzgroove's purpose is to nurture upcoming musicians by allowing a platform and performance opportunity to an established audience through our weekly Tuesday double bill events, marketing/ promotion support while also providing a dialogue and mentorship between past Jazzgroove performers and more experienced musicians.
