Yohai Cohen & Shai Shriki are a dynamic duo, bringing the traditional music of Morocco and North Africa with the authentic Jewish influence of the region and spanish flavours.

They both share a similar upbringing born to musical families of Moroccan Jewish heritage. Growing up in the north of Israel they were exposed the traditions and the different musical and cultural diversity of the area.

Yohai Cohen is a young musician who grew up in the town of Tzfat. At a very young age he was discovered as a musical prodigy. He has played, performed & recorded with many artists and different projects in Israel and abroad. Two years ago he moved to Australia and began to develop his solo musical career as vocalist and an oud player.  Yohai is an exceptional singer, oud player and a high-end percussionist, who studied with the masters of the Middle Eastern music in Israel.

Shai Shriki is a guitarist, oud and multi instrumentalist singer / songwriter who grew up near Haifa. The love for music started at home with his grandfather who was a known singer and oud player in Morocco. Shai's travels and open mindedness to cultures and musical influences exposed him to many styles of Gypsy & world music. As well as the popular music of the western cultures. Over the years Shai played and recorded with different artists and projects, Including his Gypsy band ShakShuka. He has also written music and performed solo maintaining the traditional sounds. Collaborating and accompanying Yohai Cohen he taps back into the familiar sounds from home.

Together they take the audience on a musical journey into the old traditions of Moroccan Jewish music, and songs of North Africa.
