Felicity Fox (Wilcox) is known for her moody soundtracks for many award-winning films and television shows, for which she has received multiple AFI, ARIA and APRA/AGSC awards and nominations. She also composes songs, electro-acoustic works and chamber music, with recent commissions for some of Australia’s finest ensembles including The Australia Ensemble, Ensemble Offspring, Ironwood, Halcyon, Sydney Art Quartet, Charisma, and the Australia Piano Quartet.

This double set of original tunes by Felicity draws from two of her albums of songs, The Curling Vine (2015), and Rise from the Ocean (2003), along with a few tunes by legendary US singer-songwriter Elliott Smith thrown in for good measure. In the spirit of her other work, this darkly beautiful collection of spacious ballads steeped in soul features Felicity on keys and vocals, bassist Lloyd Swanton (The Necks, The Catholics), drummer and percussionist Jess Ciampa (Monsieur Camembert, Tango Saloon), guitarist John Encarnacao (The Nature Strip, Warmer), sought-after vocalist Christine Wheeler, as well as star instrumentalists Ewan Foster (Australian Opera/Ballet Orchestra), and Tim Crow.

"There's an openness of spirit at the heart of The Curling Vine…comfortably emotional...hints of Nina Simone.” Bernard Zuel, Sydney Morning Herald.
