Further to performances at WOMADelaide Festival and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Tara Tiba and her band are touring Australia, performing at the Camelot Lounge in Sydney for one night only.

Praised as one of Iran's most unique new voices, Tara mesmerises her audience with a soulful voice and an extraordinary vocal technique.

Classically trained in the Persian 'Radif' music system,Tara's performances feature improvisations of classical Persian poetry by Rumi (13th century) and Hafez (14th century). Traditional tunes are given new life with original arrangements, combining shades of jazz with a Persian twist.

Tara is accompanied by a talented band of classical Persian instrumentalists, Reza Mirzaei (Saz-long neck middle eastern lute/Guitar) and Saeed Danesh (Daf/Tonbak) and some of Western Australia's finest young jazz musicians - Laura Corney (Saxophone), Kate Pass (Double Bass) and Alex Reid (Drums).
