Doig Big Band

The 16-piece Doig Big Band will make its debut at Foundry 616, featuring a line-up of Sydney's youngest and brightest musicians.

Founded in 2012 as an expanded version of Doig Collective, featured on ABC Jazz in the previous year, the group have since developed a repertoire of leader and pianist Glenn Doig's original compositions.

For this performance, Doig has arranged an entirely new set of tunes from his jazz heroes of the last ten years, including Brad Mehldau, Wynton Marsalis and Aaron Parks amongst others, specifically for this ensemble.Expect an uncompromising, high-energy offering from an all-star cast of the musicians of the next generation.
