Flight of the Birrin Birrin

Sam McSweeney and Alix Hamilton are presenting a program of West Australian compositions for viola and piano, inspired by the natural beauty of our stunning state. The work follows the imagined journey of a Birrin Birrin -the Noongar name for the Rainbow Bee-eater. The program features his newly composed six-movement suite for viola and piano. Each movement reflects a different chapter of the bird’s adventure, capturing the colours, rhythms, and spirit of the land through music. Ticket includes afternoon tea.
