Fuchsia, pioneers of UK Psych/folk, welcome you to a distinctively different evening of original songs plus some unique musical theatre, as performed at the Perth Fringe Festival last year.

Tony Durant’s Fuchsia, a pioneering British psychedelic-folk band of the late 70s, are currently enjoying an international revival.

In February 2017, The Perth Fringe festival hosted Tony’s Mahagonny musical, and we welcome cast members Sam Devenport, Michael McStay, Marie Cole and Tadhg Scanionwho will perform several songs from this very entertaining and critically acclaimed show.

..and Fuchsia the band? an Australian Rodriguez story? Maybe.

Their self titled album “Fuchsia” released in 1971, unexpectedly resurfaced 35 years later, as its writer Tony Durant , based in Sydney, followed other musical dreams. Finally recognised in as “a masterpiece of art rock folk stylings .” (Mojo Magazine), the long awaited follow up came in 2013 to universal critical acclaim. In the last 2 years Summer tours of Scandinavia/Europe allowed fans to at last hear this highly original folk based music live.
