Chasing the Moon brings alive the exuberant and romantic sounds of Gypsy Jazz as created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in their famous “Quintette du Hot Club de France.” The band performs with an energy and passion that's reminiscent of the great jazz of days gone by, mixing hot club with the blues, folk and Latin rhythms, lashings of swing and modern elements too. The joy is infectious. The music is entertaining and engaging.

Out front is lead vocalist and violinist Kathy Bluff delivering her distinctive style of soulful vocals and swinging violin with warmth and charm. The violin intertwines with the sultry saxophone of Paul Burjan who also plays a mean flute. Gypsy groove and swinging solos are provided by one of Sydney’s finest Hot Club guitarists, John Blenkhorn and the extraordinary Garry Steel on piano accordion, as well as the top class rhythm section of John Conley on double bass and Rodney Ford on drums.
