Bass master extraordinaire, Craig Calhoun comes to Camelot Lounge for the very first time!

Hailing from California and having toured Europe in the early days of the birth of groove, Craig Calhoun is a legend in the Australian music scene. With his new album Groovology, Craig says he hopes to “elevate funk back into the mainstream and share with this generation, that joy of when funk was supreme”.

“The success of the Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson track Uptown Funk which pays homage to the sound my band and I were creating back in the 80s, inspired me to return to the studio, to re-record those classic funky gems we played to huge sold out audiences at the time”. Craig recalls “it felt so good to record together as a band once again, playing and grooving in the same room like we used to do”.

For Craig, there’s a sense of pride and renewed excitement to see a new generation of music lovers embrace this funk resurgence.
