Newcastle University Choir with Dungeon Big Band

Celebrating 70 years since Peace came to the Pacific.

We acknowledge the trauma of World War 2 in the Pacific and joyfully celebrate the peace that came at its end 70 years ago.  The 17 piece Dungeon Big Band will join the Choir to create an afternoon of toe tapping, finger snapping joy through the swinging dance music of the time ! 

Music will allow the audience to experience, or have the chance to remember, the mood of the time as World War 2 came to Australia's shores.  The fear experienced by Australians as attacks reached even closer was released in the incredible joy of the post-war years.  All of this was heard in the easily accessible popular music of the time.

So don't miss out on this amazing experience! Dress up in the style of the times and be ready to share in a great afternoon.  Prizes are on offer for the best outfits and dancers will find some free floor space for their enjoyment.
