7PM Doors Open

7:45PM The Mighty Kind

8:30PM Grady & Cooper with The Teneriffe Two ( 2 sets with a short interval)

Venue is cash only.

Steve Grady and Megan Cooper play Live At Lutwyche. Two of Brisbane’s best are joining forces for a night of vintage music, inspired by the great music hall artists of the 50s and 60s. Featuring exquisite duets in the stunning acoustics of Windsor School of Arts, this special performance is part of the Brisbane Fringe Festival.

They will be joined by The Teneriffe Two, one of the best rhythm sections this side of the delta, in a homage to early rock 'n' roll and Americana, or like the kids used to call it before it was cool… country.

Both award-winning songwriters, and stellar vocalists, Grady & Cooper were dared into collaborating when their tours collided in Melbourne recently, after a punter commented on the rare and powerful on-stage vocal chemistry they displayed.

A record swapping session back in Brisbane and Live at Lutwyche was born when it emerged the pair shared a passion for old school music and the foundations of the alt-country movement. The Windsor School of Arts, hidden among the pines on Lutwyche Rd, seemed like the perfect spot to remind people of a place and time where it all began.

Grady & Cooper will take you on a journey through the vast and familiar musical landscape that the likes of Cash, Williams and Presley pioneered.

But it won’t just be a night of tributes and cheese, expect elegant harmonic sweetness, reworks of their own tunes and reinterpretations of great song book standards.

Saturday 15 August 2015. Doors open 7pm. Windsor School of Arts, Lutwyche Rd, Windsor. Tix $15 plus booking fee.

"His music beckons the past to confront the future in many ways. Grady’s sound is reminiscent of the great songwriters of the day like Dylan, Young and Cash… yet has a sense of longing in it that tells of the man who created it“ Ryan Martin, jammerzine.com

Megan Cooper

Arne Sjostedt from the Sydney Morning Herald’s cited Cooper as having one of the Best Albums of 2014, One Stop Country in Nashville has heralded her as a “unique and defining voice”, while Noel Mengel from the Courier Mail says she has “one of the most striking voices in Australian Country”.
