Meet The Collective!
Are you interested in co-design, co-create and collective impact? Hear about these things and more by coming along to our free event to welcome the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary leadership roundtable The Collective!
Please join us for an evening of wine, cheese and speed networking to Meet The Collective! Hear from members of the newly formed Bird Sanctuary Collective who are hosting this exciting speed-networking evening at the Adelaide Zoo. The Collective will share their visions, thoughts and ideas on how they will play a role driving community voice into the design and management of the Bird Sanctuary.
The Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary is one of South Australia’s exciting new initiatives which aims to protect birds and provide opportunities or local and visiting people.
The Bird Sanctuary will be one of Adelaide’s longest continuous conservation areas stretching along 60 kilometres of the Adelaide’s coastline from Barker inlet in the south to Port Parham in the north. The area is home to over 20,000 birds. The creation of the Bird Sanctuary was announced in 2014. Its vision is to create an internationally important conservation area on the fringes of Adelaide that safeguards migratory birds, improves the health of Gulf St Vincent, creates a more liveable and sustainable city, provides eco-tourism experiences and offers opportunities for indigenous involvement.
The Collective brings together passionate groups and individuals who have will collectively plan and build the efforts of the Bird Sanctuary. The Collective will sustain the engagement of a broad range of community members and lead to large scale impact for the Bird Sanctuary.
Significant work will be undertaken by The Collective through a continuous process of ‘planning and doing’ grounded in constant evidence-based feedback around what is or is not working. Through engaging with data and stories, people get to explore each other’s perspectives, thereby developing a shared understanding. This process itself builds engagement, respect and trust.
The Bird Sanctuary Collective will sustain the engagement of a broad range of community members and lead to large scale impact for the Bird Sanctuary.
