Have you ever considered how accessible your business or event is to the community? Have you factored in accessibility considerations on your websites? What about ease of accessibility in your business or event’s physical environment? Paul Nunnari, Manager of NSW Event Access and Inclusion at the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, will be discussing the importance of accessibility and ways you can increase opportunities for all members of the community to interact with your business or event.

The aim of Paul’s role with NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet is to increase opportunities for people with disability to participate in major and community events across NSW. Paul works directly with event organisers and other government and non-government event planning agencies to coordinate strategies which are most conducive to increased participation. Some of these strategies include better transport and communication options, better disability awareness training for event staff and an increase in access considerations to events like accessible viewing areas, captioning and audio description. Paul has coordinated accessibility considerations for many events, including, Sydney NYE, Vivid Sydney, ANZAC Day and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade.
