The Brisbane Improv Festival is excited to be hosting 22 Improvisation Workshops as part of the 2022 Festival with facilitators from all over Australia and New Zealand.

Musical Improv Sing Your Way through!
Facilitated by Mark Grimes

Want to learn about how to singprov? This workshop will take you through techniques to impress an audience from the moment you open your mouth to the last line of your creatively crafted melody.

This workshop introduces participants to musical short form games, basic song structure and how to approach a song in improvisation.

About Mark

Mark Grimes is an improviser, musician and teacher originally from Scotland and based in Australia since 2008. Mark has taught and performed musical improv in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, the UK and USA and is a current director of Australia’s Ho Hum Musical Improv. He brings an energy and passion to musical improv that makes it fun for everyone no matter their level of experience.

The Brisbane Improv Festival will be following all current COVID-19 safety guidelines and will also require all workshop participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the wellbeing of all participants and facilitators - please note this is a extra requirement mandated by the Festival.
